Crystal Mill is a popular Colorado
photo location, despite the rough 7
mile 4x4 road it takes to get there.
Also known to some as Dead
Horse Mill, it once functioned as a
mechanical air compressor used in
mining operations. The town of
Crystal itself is close by, and to this
day does not have electricity. The
former mining town now largely
functions as cabin rentals for
people wanting to "get away". On
this summer trip, I drove back to
find the falls at full flow. A part of
Colorado that will likely never be
modernized, nor should it be.
