I drove out and met up with some fellow photographers for a snowshoe trip. We gathered around 3 and soon set
out up Mayflower Gulch, located between Copper Mountain Ski Area and Leadville Colorado. We arrived at the
end of the valley with plenty of time to scout around for potential shots. When sunset was maybe 20-30 minutes
away, clouds closed in and the light was gone. It didn't look good for getting a shot. Then with about 10 minutes
before sunset, the clouds broke back open for just a bit, painting the ridge with sunset light.
