Long Canyon View
I had gone scouting during the day, and remembered seeing this approximate view on a previous visit where I
drove down Long Canyon. I ventured down the road and saw a primitive camp spot on the first switchback, and
pulled in to check it out. I knew the canyon dropped down here, and walked to the edge to scout the view. I liked
the angle, overlooking the fins with the La Sal mountains in the background. I made a mental note and deemed it
the likely sunset shot attempt for that evening. A few hours later, I was back and setup with time to spare, giving
me the opportunity to soak in the view. The sun dipped lower, painting the tops of the fins in a sweet light, and I
knew it was time to take the shot.
