Eureka Dunes are located in Death Valley National Park. Miles from any sign of civilization, these dunes are
relatively unvisited, due to the drive required. Imagine the worst washboard road you've ever been on, and take it
times 10. I had a rental car and babied it as much as possible. It took over an hour to drive the last 10 miles.
Brutal. I wished for my Jeep. But the car and I both made it, and the payoff is great. Some of North America's
tallest dunes, there is much opportunity to find a shot. Exploring the dunes, I found an area of at least a couple
acres, covered in these ripple patterns. A clump of grass and a "wave" caught my eye, and so I waited for the
soft evening light.
