I had drove back to the Capitol Peak trailhead and hiked in a bit. It was pretty cloudy, but hoped they would
break to the west at sunset and light up above the 14,000+ foot mountain. I climbed the hill above the trail some,
getting a higher viewpoint above the changing aspen trees. The clouds didn't give me much hope as sunset
drew closer, killing any sunset light. When sunset was maybe 5 or 10 minutes off, to my surprise, Capitol Peak
was suddenly bathed in a warm sunset light from some unseen hole in the western clouds. I snapped a few
shots, and the light was soon gone as fast as it had showed.
